Rushden and Higham Ferrers are our home patch, so we build a lot of bases close to our yard. Being local means quick site visits, and it’s easy for us to come back about a week later, once the concrete has cured, to put up your shed or garden room if you’d like us to.
Every base is dug out to firm ground, built on 100mm of compacted MOT Type 1 with a damp-proof membrane, and finished with 150mm of concrete, or 200mm reinforced with steel mesh for heavier buildings.
Areas we cover: Rushden, Higham Ferrers, Chelveston, Caldecott, Newton Bromswold, Wymington, Irchester and Stanwick
Low-lying gardens towards the Nene and Rushden Lakes can be soft and damp. We dig down to firm ground, and the compacted sub-base and membrane stop moisture rising into your building’s floor.
Higham Ferrers and Rushden both have conservation areas. Inside them, outbuildings beside the house and buildings at listed properties need extra permission, so we check with North Northamptonshire Council before you order.
Newer estates on the edge of both towns often have compact gardens with access only through a garage or the house. We barrow or pump the concrete in, and check whether your deeds limit outbuildings.
Being minutes away, we can come back once your base has cured, usually about a week later, to assemble your shed, summerhouse or garden room for you.
