Taking a tree down safely is all about planning: which way it can fall, what’s underneath it, and how to protect your house, fences, sheds and your neighbours’ gardens.
Where there’s open space, we fell the tree straight in a controlled direction. Where there isn’t, we dismantle it in sections, lowering each piece safely. Before any work we check for Tree Preservation Orders, and afterwards we chip the branches, take everything away and can grind out the stump so you’re left with usable ground.

Once the tree is down, we can grind the stump out below ground level, so you can lay turf, paving or a new bed over it. The grindings are cleared away with the rest of the waste.
Every tree is different, so we price each removal on a free site visit and give you a fixed, written quote within 48 hours. We’re not VAT registered, so there’s no VAT to add.
Branches are chipped and taken away as standard. Where there’s a lot of timber, waste removal is itemised on your quote at £300 per grab lorry load.
We assess the tree, its surroundings and access, and decide the safest way to take it down.
We check for Tree Preservation Orders and conservation areas, and help with any council notice or application.
A clear quote within 48 hours, with stump grinding and waste removal listed separately.
Major removals are scheduled outside the main bird nesting season wherever possible.
The area is cordoned off, your property protected, and the tree brought down under control.
The stump is ground out if required, branches chipped and everything taken away.

“Bringing a tree down near someone’s house is a big responsibility. We take the time to plan every removal properly, so the only thing that changes in your garden is that the tree has gone.”

Fallen or dangerous trees after storms dealt with as quickly as we can.
Branches chipped, stumps ground and everything taken away.
Trees and conifers we’ve safely removed for homeowners across the county.

Usually not, unless the tree is protected. Trees with a Tree Preservation Order need the council’s written consent before removal, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks’ notice to the council.
Removing a protected tree without permission is a criminal offence, so we check every tree before work starts and can help you with the paperwork.
Leaving a stump is fine if you’re happy with it, but it can take years to rot, may send up new shoots and gets in the way of new turf, paving or planting.
Stump grinding removes it below ground level in a few hours, so you can use the space straight away.
It’s illegal to disturb or destroy an active bird’s nest. So we schedule major tree and conifer removals outside the main nesting season, roughly March to August, wherever possible.
Dangerous or storm-damaged trees can still be made safe at any time of year, with care taken around any nests.
