This website is run by Alyn Jones, trading as Higham Landscapes, 73 Upper Kings Avenue, Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire, NN10 8JZ. We are the “data controller” for the personal information described in this policy.

The information we collect
When you ask for a quote or become a customer, we may collect:
- your name, phone number and email address
- your address and postcode, so we can visit and quote
- details and photos of the work you’d like done
- for customers, records of the work we carried out, quotes, invoices and payments
We collect this when you fill in a form on our website, call or message us (including by WhatsApp), email us, or when we visit your property.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange a site visit
- To prepare and send your quote
- To carry out and manage the work you’ve booked, and to invoice you
- To keep the business and tax records we are required to keep by law
- After a job, to ask whether you’d be happy to leave us a review
- To take photos of completed work for our website and social media. We never include your name or address, and you can ask us not to photograph your property.
We will never sell your information or use it for unrelated marketing.
Our lawful basis
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we rely on:
- Steps before a contract, and the contract itself, when we quote for and carry out your work
- Legal obligation, for the financial records we must keep
- Legitimate interests, for asking for reviews and showing photos of our work, balanced against your rights
Who we share it with
We only share your information where we need to:
- Our website host, which also hosts our business email. Quote form messages are sent to our inbox, info@highamlandscapes.co.uk.
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to contact us that way
- Our accountant and HMRC, for tax and accounting
- Anyone else, only if we are required to by law
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t go ahead: up to 12 months
- Customer records: 6 years after the work is completed, as required for tax purposes
After that, we securely delete or destroy the information.
Cookies and third-party services on this website
We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. However, our website uses some services that may collect limited information:
- Google Fonts: our text fonts are loaded from Google’s servers, which means your IP address is sent to Google.
- Google Maps: the map on our Contact page is provided by Google and may set cookies when it loads.
- Links to Google and Facebook: if you click through to leave a review or view our profiles, those sites have their own privacy policies.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that’s wrong
- ask us to delete your information, where we don’t need to keep it by law
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
- ask for your information to be transferred to someone else

Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
